Palm Court Macadamia Crusted Alaskan Halibut Ever wondered about a restaurant that’s been in your town pretty much my entire life, almost 40 years, but for some reason you’ve never been there? For me that’s the Palm Court in Arlington Heights. I’ve spent time in Arlington Heights since birth, as my grandparents moved here in 1960. Now I’m even living in their house in town.

Yet the Palm Court isn’t quite in the downtown area of Arlington Heights….it’s actually about a mile down Arlington Heights road. Just far enough that I’d never considered it as a restaurant choice…not when there are so many choices in town which I can walk to if so desired.  That’s part of the appeal, being able to walk up to your favorite spot especially after years of having to drive everywhere.  So, when I got the invite to dinner I couldn’t turn it down!  Palm Court Oysters Rockefeller

I can tell you The Palm Court is worth that mile trip and more. To me the Palm Court is reminiscent of the exclusive steak houses my dad would only eat at while I was growing up. You can find everything on their menu from a ribeye to lobster tails like a classic steak house. The variety means there is something to please everyone on the menu.  Palm Court Porterhouse

I tried a variety of the Palm Court’s favorite dishes recently from appetizers through desserts.  Starting with appetizers, I quite liked the baked goat cheese and oysters Rockefeller.  The oysters were delectable and something I rarely find nearby. I loved the macadamia crusted  wild caught Alaskan halibut with a meuniere sauce.  The dish that everyone devoured in the blink of an eye is the free range Amish organic chicken piccata with a savory citrus caper sauce.  Just right to finish off a rich and filling meal is Lisa’s Key Lime Pie. A perfect slice is a delight with such a clean lime flavor. Each slice is a donation to the Autism Hero Project.

The Palm Court is tucked away on the corner of Arlington Heights and Palatine Road. Check out their website for more information about their menu.  After all, I only told you about my favorites, but they have a lot more to offer. Now through June 10, 2019 you can get a free dessert if you show a screenshot of this post!  Don’t miss out on good pie! You know I go out of my way for the baked goods.
