Hands down if you are brewing hot coffee the french press is not to be overlooked. Some may view it as low technology, but there is a reason that the glass carafe is a favorite. The ease of brewing for one. Hot water plus ground coffee beans and a few minutes, and then you have a full bodied coffee. With the french press you can truly control the strength of your brew.
Not only does the french press make coffee easy, it also gives you the best flavor as all those yummy coffee oils end up in your cup and not a paper filter like a typical machine. Oily beans are the difference between a regular and exemplary cup of coffee with a french press you’re guaranteed those oils are ending up in your cup.
Of course that isn’t to say that the french press is limited to coffee. We love to brew choffee. Choffee is cocoa beans ground just like coffee. You brew it in the same way and yet the flavors of chocolate are beyond what you’d imagine. To think that you can have your chocolate and drink it too.
You can also use your X-Chef to infuse drinks. The filter press is the perfect way to get all the flavor out of your favorite beverage without any grounds or solids. You could even use it to separate the amount of pulp you take in your freshly squeezed orange juice! In my own house there is a long standing debate over how much pulp is right.
The clean up is easy. The glass and stainless steel will never store the aromas. Every time you are getting the flavor of what you brewed. Which means you can easily switch from coffee to tea without having to worry about the flavors mixing. No in depth cleaning required.
