mora 7 When we hear sushi, we may start to salivate just a tad.  Sushi is a food that we have loved to eat since we lived in the outskirts of Seattle.  There is nothing more delicate than thinly sliced fresh fish.  Paired with vegetables and perfectly seasoned rice and you have an addictive taste.  So, of course we had to taste what MORA Asian Kitchen had to offer.

mora 5 The sushi is delectable. With a lot of stylings featuring truffles as well as the most impressive veggie roll.  To be honest, most vegetarian rolls are something that seem to be an afterthought, but this roll is not only beautiful but also had us wishing it were larger.  Our tuna and salmon cravings were sated, but the real standouts are the unique pairings.  Like the Truffle Shuffle (pictured at the top) which packed a hard punch of umami.  Along with the Drunken Crab which offered up a moist morsel of  blue crab, salmon and bourbon sriracha.  Not to forget the Mexican Standoff which is topped with pico de gallo.

mora 1 To be honest, when you go to a restaurant that offers sushi, we don’t expect anything else to grab our attention.  After all we love sushi, we will drive out of our way for great sushi.  So, we were shocked when we couldn’t stop devouring the brussel sprout and kale salad along with the king mushrooms.  To be honest, at the end we were a little more invested in all the plates without sushi because we wouldn’t be able to get those dishes anywhere else.  Granted the sushi works on its own, but we can get by with simple nigiri.  However, we cannot find lumpia, king mushrooms, or Korean style skirt steak easily anywhere else.   mora 6

You can also find a good variety of teas.  Including chrysanthemum which is hard to find outside of Chinatown, but now you can find it at the Bolingbrook Promenade.  We tried a large portion of their menu, I’ve learned to not endlessly list everything.  However, there is something for everyone from the sushi lovers to the more standard steak and potato lovers.  So, if you are looking for standout sushi when your friends and family aren’t as keen, then MORA Asian Kitchen is the place for you.  There are vegetarian, gluten-free, and kid friendly options all on the same menu.  Relax and enjoy all the flavors they have to offer.
